Projects
From spring 2020, Penzance Heliport will be home to the new Isles of Scilly helicopter, reinstating direct flights from Penzance to St Mary’s and Tresco.
Situated just a mile from Penzance railway station and adjacently to the A30, the new service will improve accessibility and enhance resilience.
This gateway to the Scilly Isles will be served by an EV shuttlebus linking to train stations, and include short and medium term parking for 274 vehicles, inclusive of ten EV charging points, and a cycle path.
This service will run all year round and up to 17 return flights per day are anticipated. A shuttle bus service as well as a short boat transfer to the other islands are available on the Scilly, enabling further connectivity.
The work has now commenced on the construction of the new helicopter gateway to Scilly which is part funded through the European Regional Development Fund.
