Offering a unique photo and video service for customers, a Customer Relationship Management tool and an improved website helped them establish their exciting business.
Established in 2017, Bull & Wolf Film Co. strives to deliver the highest quality video production services in Cornwall and around the UK. With a full service offering they are able to take client’s ideas from conception through to delivery, and work with the client every step of the way to create original and engaging content.
Director, Joe Turnbull, wants to be at the forefront of creating exciting videos for brands across Cornwall and the rest of the UK, offering content (“We don’t do boring”) that wasn’t possible before or was prohibitively expensive.
As a start-up business seeking advice and efficient tools to boost his business, Joe approached Superfast Business Cornwall in 2018. He attended the Technology for Growth workshop and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Masterclass and said: “This was a great way to learn how I can improve my online presence and decrease the loading time of the website that I feel may be damaging user experience.”
Joe was not happy with the current Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and finance tools he was using, so Digital Business Adviser Dan Piper, looked at more effective options. Joe has now started to use Insightly, a simple to use cloud based CRM system.
“By using this software Joe is able to track, monitor and evaluate customer data and allow for better interaction with existing and future customers. It delivers better focused marketing and helps facilitate more detailed conversations with clients supporting future growth,” explains Dan.
In order to improve the speed of his website for visitors, Joe wanted to know more about downscaling his images and videos, learn about the legal policies he would need and how he can improve the SEO of his website. Superfast Business Cornwall was able to organise an ICT specialist from a private sector to work with Joe. He learnt a great deal about how to improve the customer journey on his website and how to use Google Analytics and the SEO tools available for WordPress.
Joe is also looking to migrate to a finance management package and is now exploring using Xero to save him time and money after Dan’s recommendations. As a sole trader he is looking to increase his turnover by 50% next year and plans to bring in freelancers to help meet additional demand, with this software helping to manage this growth.
“The Superfast Business Cornwall team have really helped my online presence by improving the speed, functionality and visibility of my website. With the more efficient tools I am saving a lot of time to focus on producing outstanding content and delivering personal projects to help raise our profile,” says Joe.
Funded by ERDF, Superfast Business Cornwall provided a fully funded programme of support to help businesses understand, adopt and exploit digital technology for growth. Delivered by a small team of experienced Digital Business Advisers, the service offered 1-2-1 impartial advice, website reviews, workshops for small groups and advice on connectivity to Superfast Broadband.
